Dr. Scott Kirton

Dr. Scott Kirton

General Practitioner, Male

Scott Kirton was raised in Dapto, NSW. He grew up almost within view (and definitely within smell) of Lake Illawarra, and spent an idyllic childhood sailing and cycling the countryside. He got badly sunburnt every summer on the beautiful beaches of Wollongong.

Scott moved north to Brisbane with his family in 1984 where he attended Aspley State High, and the University of Queensland where he met his wife Lisa. They have two children and two puppies. Scott joined Grange Road Medical in 1996 and gradually came to realise that Ipswich is far better than Brisbane, so he moved here. His special interests are skin cancer detection and surgery, and general skin conditions

General Practitioner, Male

My name is Tu (t-oo) Huynh (Hwən). I was born in Vietnam, and came with my parents to Australia as refugees in 1979.

I have lived in Brisbane most of my life. Went to Brisbane State High School and graduated from UQ in 1998 with my MBBS and spent 4 years at Ipswich General Hospital. I had experience in Emergency medicine, ICU, and Ophthalmology (eyes) apart from the normal rotations in hospital, before deciding on General Practice.

I have an interest in paediatrics (kids), eye problems, men’s health and skin checks, and perform minor procedures like removing skin cancers. I have started the Ipswich Travel Clinic to provide travel advice and health needs (vaccines, travel kits, yellow fever certificates) for those travelling overseas..

I have a lovely supportive wife and two kids who are growing up fast. I have been at Grange Road now for a few years and hope that we can continue to provide excellent service to the community with our collective knowledge and experience in our doctors.

Dr. Iniyal Raveenthiran

General Practitioner, Female

I was born in SriLanka. After finishing high school, I was offered a scholarship to study medicine in Lvov Medical Institute, Russia. On completing my medical degree, I returned to SriLanka and worked for 3 years. I got married and migrated to Australia in 1991. My husband is a Civil Engineer. We have 2 children – daughter and son, both are studying at University of Queensland.

I have been working in Grange Road Medical Services since 2002. I love spending time with my kids and our family loves travelling.

Dr. Lisa Moreton

Dr. Lisa Moreton

General Practitioner, Female

My name is Dr. Lisa Moreton, or Mrs. Lisa Kirton, or Mum, or ‘Hey you’. I have worked at Grange Road since 2000 and have lived locally since 2006.

My husband Scott works here too and we have two children, Hamish and Matilda and two beagles named Bowie and Buffy. I was originally born in Inglewood, the only true Queenslander in my family and grew up in Rockhampton before moving to Brisbane for University and subsequent hospital time. Scott and I both passed our exams to specialize in General Practice in 1997, and Grange Road is a great place to work and endeavor to provide comprehensive primary care to our patients. I love the continuity of general practice, looking after people in the context of their families and their community.

For fun, I like reading (psychological thrillers, horror, science fiction and fantasy) cooking (decadent desserts especially) and quilting (many more unfinished projects than finished).

Dr. Andrew Warren

Andrew originally hails from Sydney but hopes you won’t hold that against him. He grew up in Brisbane and, following a career in IT, completed his medical education in Ipswich at the University of Queensland and undertook medical residency at the Redland Hospital on the bayside.

He enjoys photography and music (mostly classical and jazz). He enjoys the variety of general practice and loves to get to know his patients and provide ongoing care.

Dr. Ben Hearne

Dr. Ben Hearne

General Practitioner, Male

Ben was born in Ipswich Hospital and grew up just outside Ipswich, however, not this Ipswich but the Ipswich in the UK! This is perhaps why he feels so at home here; he arrived from the UK at the beginning of 2025 on New Years Eve celebrating this new life in Australia with his wife and 2 children. He left Ipswich in the UK in 2006 to study Medicine at the University of Sheffield. After graduating as a doctor he did various Medical Specialities including, Care of the Elderly, Ear Nose and Throat Surgery, Emergency Medicine, General Surgery and Women’s Health. Ben completed 5 years of Anaesthetic Training, but decided he preferred talking to patients rather than putting them to sleep. He switched to GP training and has not looked back.

When Ben is not at work, he is spending time with his family and finding adventures around Queensland, experiencing nature in all its beauty in this incredible part of the world. He is always keen to hear suggestions of great places to see and visit.

Dr. Amanda Illingworth

Dr. Amanda Illingworth

General Practitioner, Female

I have been in Australia for over 30 years and a Grange Road doctor since 1991 (does that make me a local yet?). I was born in South Africa and grew up in Zimbabwe (Rhodesia), which was exciting and adventurous. My husband and I emigrated to Australia looking for a better future for our family – and found it in Ipswich.

General Practice has been the most rewarding and exciting career for me. I am passionate about maintaining excellence in primary health care and so I am involved in local medical politics and medical education to do my ‘bit’ to continually improve local health care.

I have 2 awesome grown-up off-spring who are true Aussies. I love to de-stress with making artworks and playing classical guitar.

Dr. Evie Rank

Dr. Evie Rank

General Practitioner, Female

Evelyn Rank prefers to be called Dr Evie, as she is called Evelyn only when she is in trouble. She graduated from University of Queensland in 2011, and trained
mainly in Ipswich Hospital and Gold Coast University Hospital. She really enjoys people, loves food and is secretly a little bit of a geek. Her boys drag her out running, which she does reluctantly only so that she can have that little bit more chocolate after dinner.

Her favourite patients (if she is really honest) are those with multiple chronic medical conditions, the elderly and youth who don’t quite fit the box.

Evie spent 3 years at Ipswich Hospital back in 2012 and is thrilled to be back in the area.
